Church preaches peace as remains of Bauchi youth tortured to death buried

Tears flowed freely on Thursday as the remains of Dauda Danladi, the 33-year-old man, who was allegedly tortured to death by policemen from the Yelwa Division in Bauchi State, were interred.

The funeral service was held at the Evangelical Church Winning All, Yelwa Kagadama, while the interment took place at the Yelwa Christian cemetery with hundreds of mourners in attendance.

The Associate Pastor, ECWA, Rev Ahmed Rabo, called on the youth and the deceased’s family members to take heart and allow God to be the judge.

He appealed for calm, especially by the youth, and cautioned them against taking the law into their own hands.

Rabo stated, “Dauda didn’t die because of sickness; he didn’t die during an accident, but we know he was killed. He was arrested in front of his shop and tortured, and that was how he died.

“But I want to tell you that we have taken our cries to God. God is the judge even though they are the authority; they can protect themselves, because they have the judges, lawyers and the government. But human beings cannot protect themselves from God.

“Know that God is ready to judge this case. God is not a God of injustice, He is a God of justice and because of that, He will give the right judgement.”

Rabo added, “I want to plead with you the youth; this church has taken an action of going to court and as a result of that, please don’t complicate issues for us; calm down and let  your hearts not be troubled.

“With your prayers and by the grace of God, we will get justice for the deceased. His blood will not be spilled in vain. God will do something. I beg you to please bear with what has happened. Youths, family and friends be patient and let’s take what God sent to us with our whole hearts.”

In a short exhortation before the final interment at the graveside, the Senior Pastor of the church, Rev Yunana Idris, charged Christians to be steadfast and live right, especially because of the way the country is at the moment.

Danladi was reportedly arrested by the team of security agents in front of his shop in Yelwa Tsakani, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis, around 9pm last Thursday and taken to the Yelwa Division, where he was allegedly tortured to death.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ahmed Wakil, claimed that a patrol team that went to the area to arrest some suspects saw Danladi lying in front of his shop gasping for breath “reasonably suspected to have an asthma attack” and rushed him to hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead.

Burbank, Calif. — What began as a seemingly happy two-year marriage ended in confrontation and police involvement after a Burbank woman allegedly used multiple electronic tracking devices to monitor her husband’s movements, authorities and sources familiar with the situation said.

According to information obtained by this outlet, the marriage between Amos and Yolanda deteriorated after Yolanda allegedly placed Apple AirTags, Tile trackers, and a GPS tracking device on Amos’ vehicle and personal belongings without his knowledge. The devices reportedly allowed her to monitor his location in real time and reconstruct his daily movements across the city.

Friends of the couple said the marriage appeared stable during its early years, with the pair often seen together at community events and social gatherings. However, tensions reportedly escalated when Yolanda began confronting Amos about his whereabouts, referencing locations and timelines he had not shared with her.

The situation reached a breaking point when Yolanda allegedly tracked Amos to an apartment complex in Burbank, where she believed he had gone without informing her. Sources say she arrived at the location shortly after he did, leading to a heated confrontation in the parking area of the building. Neighbors, alarmed by raised voices, contacted local authorities.

Burbank police responded to the scene and separated the parties. While no arrests were immediately announced, the incident marked the effective end of the couple’s marriage, according to individuals close to Amos.

Legal experts note that the unauthorized use of tracking devices may raise serious privacy and stalking concerns under California law, depending on intent and consent. Law enforcement officials have not publicly disclosed whether an investigation remains ongoing.

The case underscores growing concerns about the misuse of consumer tracking technology, originally designed to help locate lost items, but increasingly implicated in domestic disputes and surveillance-related allegations.

As of publication, neither Amos nor Yolanda had publicly commented on the incident.
