Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents attacked Babbangida, headquarters of Tarmuwa local government area of Yobe state, on Sunday evening.
A source disclosed that the insurgents exchanged gunfire with troops in the area.
According to him, many residents have since scampered into the bush for safety.
“We are currently in the bush running for our lives; I believe you can hear the sound of the gunshots,” the source said.
