Funeral arrangements made for Houston-based academia, Dr. Jonathan Pamugo

Funeral arrangements have been made for Houston-based community leader and academia Dr. Jonathan Nnamdi Pamugo, who died on March 11th, 2022 in Houston Texas. He is survived by his wife, Hon. Mrs. Victoria Pamugo; five Children; Brothers, Sisters, Nephews, Nieces, In-laws, and numerous relatives.

Until his death, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor, at the Texas Southern University’s College of Science, Engineering, and Technology; and an Adjunct Instructor at the Department of Biology, Houston Community College.

Pamugo has also served as the Dean of Academics, at the Juliana King University, Houston; Senior Instructor and Coordinator, of Scientific Research at the DeBakey High School for Health Professions; and Research Associate–Division of Neuroscience, at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Baylor College of Medicine.

A Service of Songs will be held in his honor on Friday, May 13th, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 09:30 pm at Kingdom City (Upstairs Auditorium), 2100 Eldridge Pkwy, Houston TX, 77077. Other funeral details rolled out by the Son, Mr. Jonathan Nnamdi Pamugo Jr., on behalf of the family include:

Dr. Jonathan Nnamdi Pamugo was born in Enugu, Enugu State, to the family of Late Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Mpamugo of Umuelechi, Okwe, Oboro in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State, Nigeria on February 18th, 1956.

He obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka before relocating to the United States from St Georges Medical School, Grenada.

A graduate of the School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Texas Medical Branch, Oncology and Cancer Biology, Dr. Pamugo obtained his Masters of Science in Molecular Biology from Texas Southern University in 1995; Post-Grad- Diploma. Voc. Edu. (Health Science), Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, TX.; Doctor of Ministry, D. Min–Juliana King University; and Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership–Juliana King University.
