Houston headquarters, as it is referred to, Otu-Umuokpu Anambra USA is made up of prominent women from Anambra State of Nigeria. Their mission has inspired not only the protection of the Igbo traditional values and culture but also a series of charitable projects back home in Nigeria. For instance, in June 2020, the group collaborated with their members from Enugu, Onitsha, and Awka in Nigeria to distribute COVID-19 relief materials to orphanage homes.

But the Music Launch and Thanksgiving Celebration would be the group’s first major forum since the Pandemic. Prominent Igbo leaders in America and Nigeria; present and prospective Otu-Umuokpu Anambra USA members; Houston community and political leaders and other guests are expected to grace this occasion.

The group’s founder “Nneora” Jenny Ogadi told International Guardian that the music content would be a surprise. “You know that we are all about the Igbo culture, and Igbos are vast in the United States, so it is expected that our music would reflect our ethnicity and specifically, who we are,” she said.
