Masari to Katsina communities: defend yourselves from bandits

Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari has warmed residents and members of Katsina communities to stand firm, fight and defend themselves from the intimidation of bandits in their areas.

He warned: ”Enough of residents running away from kidnappers. Same bandits are causing unrest in the state.”

Masari, who gave the charge at the official inauguration of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Katsina State’s office, said the challenges posed by bandits are surmountable.

He further challenged those indigenous to Katsina State to guard their places and fight the battle without fear.

The Governor urged COREN and other professional bodies to look inward toward maintaining standards and professionalism.

He also thanked the COREN President for coming to Katsina despite all the unnecessary and unfounded fear being created by the social media and people whom he said don’t wish Katsina well.

The COREN President, Ali RAbi’u disclosed that the Katsina Office of COREN would absorb young professionals and build the professional standard among them.

He appreciated the Katsina State government for providing an edifice for the association and the Governor for supporting them in all areas of need.

The Registrar, COREN, Prof. Joseph Odugure said the professional body’s aim was to build the content of the Engineering profession to meet the world standard in Katsina State and the country as a whole.
