It’s Official – Marina Coryat is on November ballot for Houston City Council, At-Large, Position 2

Marina Angelica Coryat, a 21 year civil employee of the City of Houston, proud CWA member, and business owner officially became an at-large candidate, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 filing for a place on the ballot in the race for Houston City Council, At-Large, Position 2 in the November 7, 2023 general election.

“It’s an honor to be a candidate who leads with purpose,” said Marina Angelica Coryat. “When voters hear about my vision, learn about my experience, and understand that I’m ready to start on Day 1, we earn their support. My goal is to communicate effectively about the issues facing our city, and how we solve those problems together.”

A Cornell University Alumna, Marina served the City of Houston for 21 years in a variety of community and communication positions. More recently, Marina served as the Communications Director for State Representative Senfronia Thompson.

Marina has served in a number of volunteer organizations including the Greater Houston Partnership, Houston Area Urban League, Big Brother Big Sisters, Acres of Angels, and Houston League of Business and Professional Women to name a few.

In 2022, she received the Presidential Volunteer Award for her years of community service from President Joseph R. Biden.

“Marina is a friend who I have come to know that listens and after evaluating matters, she will not give up what she feels is right and will continue fighting for the people,” Edna Griggs, Founder of Acres of Angels.

The final day of qualifying for the election is August 21,2023. If no candidate reaches the 50 plus 1 percent threshold, a run-off for the top 2 candidates will happen in December.
