Afenifere Asks FG To Check Influx Of Foreigners Into Nigeria

Pan Yoruba Socio cultural organisation Afenifere has called on the federal government to check the influx of foreigners into the country, arguing that they were the major perpetrators of the criminal acts and insecurity.

Afenifere Stated this at its meetings held at the country home of its acting leader  Chief Ayo Adebanjo, at Sanya Ogbo in Ijebu Ode  and attended by the deputy leader, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, the secretary- general, Chief Sola Ebiseni, Chief Supo Sonibare, Abagun Kole Omololu, Hon. Leke Mabinuori, Senator Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele, Dr Gbola Adetunji, Dr Alonge, Hon. Babatunde Tijani, Dr. Amos Akingba,  Prof Akin Onigbinde and Hon. Dauda among others.

They noted with concern the unprecedented security problems accentuated by the influx of people from outside Nigeria.

The group in a communiqué issued and signed by its publicity secretary Comrade Jare Ajayi stated that some criminals responsible for the high rate of insecurity in the country disguised themselves as commercial motorcycle riders.

Afenifere said Nigeria is fast moving into the precipice and stressed the need for the federal government to halt various acts of terrorism, kidnapping, herders/farmers clashes and others.

It said security can be strengthened if the government in power allows states to have their own police.
