Houston’s own Hon. Dr/Mrs. Gracie Gboliwe Chukwu was last week honored with ANMA Higher Achievement Award by the American Naturopathic Medical Association (ANMA), at the 2021 ANMA 40th Anniversary Convention and Educational Seminar held at the Westgate Resort in Las Vegas, NV.

A total of twelve professionals were honored at a convention that featured more than 40 natural health speakers and workshops with over 80 natural health exhibitors. This exciting celebration marked 40 years of ANMA’s mission in representing REAL naturopaths and protecting naturopathy for public access in America.

Chukwu, a Doctor of Naturopathy and a Certified Nutrition Counselor is the founder of Houston Holistic Health Clinic – a universal medical facility where patients are offered an alternative solution to conventional medicine. At this facility, through non-invasive tests and anecdotal healing principles, Dr. Chukwu analyzes each individual-health, behavior and, lifestyle to actualize total wellness.

Indeed, her awards last week exemplify her life-saving feat as a board-certified naturopath. According to Dr. Chukwu, “I am extremely pleased, honored and humbled to accept this award–. the ANMA Higher Achievement Award, and to join past recipients who I have long admired and respected. Also, I am earnestly grateful for the recognition I have received for my services and contribution to the medical profession – thanks to my staff and colleagues at the Houston Holistic Health Clinic. I would say that this Award is for us.”

The ANMA 40th Anniversary Convention and Educational Seminar is the largest naturopathic professionals gathering in the US. The convention creates continuing education credits and offer opportunities for members to network with like-minded natural health providers from a variety of different training and schools. AMNA was founded in 1847 and has worked to create a healthier future for patients.

Besides her excellence in the medical field, Dr. Chukwu, also a Registered Naturopathic Diplomat by the National Registry of Naturopathic Practitioners (RND) is a devoted community advocate instrumental to a lot of organizations. For instance, she is the founder of the Houston African Community International, Inc. (HACIUSA) —a global umbrella for all Africans and African heritage groups created to promote, strengthen, empower and unite all Africans in Houston-Texas.

Dr, Chukwu founded and structured HACIUSA as a proactive organization that uses creative social and professional programs to positively promote Africans in the Greater Houston Area. HACIUSA primary targets are Africans, African-Americans, Australian-Aborigines, and Caribbean immigrants of African descent.

According to Dr, Chukwu, “Africans in the Greater Houston Area have not been represented as they should, although HACIUSA is open to all Nationalities and races regardless of sex or creed. We advance international and intercultural understanding and seeks to encourage African-Americans, American-born children, and others to identify with their heritage to gain a full understanding of history.”

Dr. Chukwu is also the International President of the Okwesilieze Women’s Club of Nigeria -OWCN- North America. According to Dr. Chukwu. “This is a Club where women with great ideas can talk to each other about wellness and family prosperity, friendships, sisterhoods ―bringing awareness to issues that concern us such as healthcare, social, political, and economic matters.” The Okwesilieze Women’s Club of Nigeria was founded in 1976 in Enugu, Nigeria with the core mission to promote family values, harness wellness, economics, and community activities, and help the less fortunate women in the society overcome life challenges.

“I have received several awards but the ANMA Higher Achievement Award is personal because it ties to my achievements toward my medical professional vows and objectives. It’s a huge honor to accept this award on behalf of everyone at the Houston Holistic Health Clinic —from the medical crew to our patients and fans all around the world. Thank you, again, to the American Naturopathic Medical Association, and to everyone that attended or watched this event. It’s been such a pleasure to talk to so many of my colleagues all over the country, and I look forward to everything we can accomplish together in the years ahead,” Dr. Chukwu said.
