The members of Omega Gospel Ministries invite the entire Greater Houston community to a special “African Day” celebration on Sunday, February 23rd, beginning at 10:00 AM. The celebration will take place at the church’s main campus (11796 South Glen) in west Houston. In honor of National Black History Month, the celebration will highlight the rich cultural heritage of both Africa and the African diaspora, showcasing unique traditions through various presentations and performances. The event encourages attendees to celebrate their shared heritage in the spirit of faith and unity.

The highly anticipated celebration promises to reflect a powerful cultural immersion — featuring traditional African musical ensembles and drumming performances, a full display of colorful cultural attires, a parade of flags presentation highlighting both African and African diasporic nations, engaging storytelling and historical reflections, and a savory taste of authentic African cuisine from across the continent.

Omega Gospel Ministries’ Rev. Dr. Victor Mbah-Njei and First Lady Dr. Muriel Mbah-Njei will host the momentous occasion. Along with the event organizers, it is their hope that attendees will truly connect with the richness of African heritage. “We believe that embracing our diverse cultures strengthens our unity and faith,” said Rev. Mbah. “This event is more than a celebration – it is an opportunity to honor our past, celebrate our present, and inspire our future generations.”

The “African Day” celebration is free to attend and open to the general public. All attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest traditional African attire to immerse themselves in the celebration fully.
